Year 6
Focus areas: ‘Living in the past’ (structures unit) and ‘Spring Rolls’ (food unit) and ‘Nightlights’ (electrical control unit).
The children create products by combining their designing, making and evaluating skills, with their knowledge and understanding. They are taught the skills and approaches to enable them to use a range of tools and materials safely, confidently and with accuracy. They focus on structures using computer aided design (TinkerCAD) and electricity control, using Crumble kits to programme and control their nightlights (nightlight). During their spring roll project, they learn where our food comes from and how recipes can be adapted.
